Tom loves baseball; he loves football also.(false) 3.The sentence is correct. True or False? Italy is her favorite country, in fact; she hopes to go there next summer. (false) 4.The sentence is correct. True or False? The storm went on a long time; however, there was no tornadoes in the area. (true) 5. The sentence is correct. True or False? I believe there are 3 things to achieving good grade; paying attention in class, doing your homework, and listening to the teacher. (true)

Eiwoh2:

Okay, the first one seems to actually be false. A comma would be a more appropriate puncuation mark here. The second one I would say is true. If a comma was placed, then they would have to add another word such as "but" to make ", but he loves football also."

CC12:

3 true

Eiwoh2:

The third is false, as the puncutation marks are in the wrong places. The comma should be where the semicolon is. "Italy is her favorite country; in fact, she hopes to go there next summer."

Eiwoh2:

That looks much better, no?

CC12:

yes makes more sense

Eiwoh2:

The 4th one is indeed true.

Eiwoh2:

And the 5th one, instead of a semicolon, requires a colon where it is about to make a list of the 3 things. "I believe there are 3 things to achieving good grade: paying attention in class, doing your homework, and listening to the teacher."

CC12:

So its false thank you so much for explaining it better

Eiwoh2:

Yes, of course. Good luck. :)
