When the same amount of heat is added to 50.0 g of each substance, which of the following will have the greatest temperature increase? iron gold aluminum copper

DuarteME:

The equation is: \(\Delta Q = mc\Delta T,\) where \(\Delta Q\) is the heat given to the system, \(m\) is its mass, \(c\) is its specific heat and \(\Delta T\) is the temperature increase. In this case, \(m = 50.0\textrm{ g}\) and \(\Delta Q \) are the same for all objects, so the product \(c\Delta T\) is a constant. Can you now see what is the relation between \(c\) and \(\Delta T\)?

Hi, I believe I answered the question for you earlier. Was my answer wrong? I had the same idea as DuarteME

jennylove:

Hi, yes i had repost it because i was confused with the conversions, but it seems like you have explained it in my closed post. thank you guys!
