hep:

how do u help someone in a panic attack? asap

PinkGlitterz:

Take deep breaths Know that everything will be okay, you get adjusted to the situation and then fix it. Lay back and close your eyes, breath in quickly, exhale slowly I have terrible anxiety and have panic attacks a lot, so trust me.

Lionblaze15:

Give them water Make them sit down Make them take deep breaths Talk it out

AngeI:

If someone is having a panic attack you might actually make it worse. It depends on the person, for example if you are their friend then you may know that affection calms them down so you could hold them or hold their hand. Breathing is important since they have trouble doing so. Breathing gets better when they relax so if you know how to relax them then do so. I know this works for asthma and it might possibly work for anxiety but steam does help open up the lungs to make it easier to breathe. You generally do not want to panic becauase doing so may freak them out even more, so if you do talk to them maintain your calmness.

KatMon01:

Agree with Angel. It really depends on the individual having the attack. I deal with stuff like that myself and have a friend who does as well and there are things that work for him that don't work for me and visa versa.

Shadow:

Kick them in the balls. They won't know why and that's usually enough.

Shadow:

On a real note, a panic attack is typically when a person is being overridden by some form of stimuli, whether it be fear, anxiety, etc. The best avenue is to have them calm down, and seek a meditative state. Key to this is controlling one's breathing with large and deep breaths. This will help them catch their breath and lower their heart rate. Another way you can lower their heart rate is wetting a (paper) towel with cold water and dampening their face. This activates a biological response human bodies engage when diving into water which lowers our heart rate. In general, just be respectful and ask what they need. But the above methods helps them get to a clear mind again in my opinion.
