Based on the website provided for me above i would actually say its the fact that he broke gender boundaries Tea, and Cake are both things that u would identify as feminine especially during the time the book took place but he was known to defy those norms in the book taking Jennie hunting and fishing with him teaching her how to do it herself this isn't necessarily correct but it is my conclusion from what I red.
