typically you would need *two numbers* or quantities, not just one, to find a ratio

for example, if a bag has 3 marbles, with 2 of them being red and 1 of them blue, then the *ratio* of red to blue is simply 2:1, or 2/1, or 2.

so the idea is, if they ask for the ratio of [A] to [ B] simply write A:B or divide A/B. You can apply this logic to any quantity.
