jennylove:

Which decibel level is 100 times higher than the lowest pressure humans can hear? 5 dB 10 dB 20 dB 40 dB

jennylove:

D?

jennylove:

20log(100) , i used to solve it

jennylove:

wait, i may be wrong:/

justjm:

I believe you are correct

jennylove:

here is a question i solved and got correct, and now its kind of confusing me. You hear sounds at the following decibel levels: 5 dB, 10 dB, 20 dB, and 40 dB. Which sound is 10 times higher than the lowest pressure humans can hear? 40 dB 10 dB 20 dB 5 dB the answer was 20.

jennylove:

i was using it to help me to solve the one i posted

justjm:

Yes 20 is correct 20log(10) = 20

jennylove:

ohhhh okay, and then if you switch that with 100 it would then be 40, okay got it

justjm:

Similarly in the one you posted, 20log(intensity) = 20log(100) = 40 dB so you were correct there in my opinion
