The more planes, the sooner will come the end of the war. Mrs. Van Daan pretends to be a fatalist. What will be, will be. The word fatalist in this passage refers to someone who believes that _____? Events are decided in advance by powers beyond one's control. Events are sometimes able to be changed if you act quickly enough. Events can be changed, no matter the circumstance. Events will always be fatal, or deadly.
This must be from Anne Frank's diary, I have that book and recognized the second name. In the story, Mrs. Van Daan isn't the best person to be around, might be a little entitled and/or selfish. But, that should only relate to her and her family, I have yet to see if she actually improves or not. The word fatalistic is relating to or characteristic of the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable. - Google So I'd say your best answer is D or A. I'm loosely saying D as we don't have a lot of information regarding the fact if Mrs. Van Daan actually thinks they'll die. And I'm also putting A on the table because it seems to be the most reasonable.
