Effective body paragraphs for persuasive essays contain the following conceptual structure : A. Introduction , support , conclusion B. Introduction , building context , thesis statement C. Claim , data , warrant D. Hook , controversy , conclusion
@ryebread1
I'm between A and D.
What do you think it is?
Idk
you don't know at all?
I said either A or D
Why come you believe these two choices are correct? @RyeBread1
Um because thats what you start off with when you write a paragraph
Those first two words did not come together well at all.
Haha! Sorry.
Sure. Perhaps note that this is for a effective body[/i] paragraph. Thus, I do not believe a hook is necessary in that case. A hook is for the introduction.
Right, so it's A then.
You get it
What my keyboard doesn't let me say.
Yes, I get it I think
Well we can also eliminate B for the fact it says thesis statement, which is also for the intro. Why do you think C is incorrect?
I don't.
Okay. So let's not eliminate it. I'll quote what a source that I'll put down in a second says: "It is also important to explain how and why the evidence supports the thesis (warrant)."
I found that under what it says about body paragraphs at https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/academic_writing/essay_writing/argumentative_essays.html
So, in my understanding, the body paragraph should solidify the claim you made in the introduction, the data you found, and the warrant to back up the thesis statement.
cool good for finding a source to make it easier to understand
So, it is A?
The body paragraphs don't contain your conclusion. Rather, I'd say C is most likely to match with an effective body paragraph.
Hm. Ok then. And you do know that this isn't my question?
Of course but we worked together to find the solution to this one. That isn't wrong, is it?
No, I just wanted to make sure you knew that.
I'm well aware. I will check out your question when I can.
I already closed it. It's ok, I'm using quizlet instead.
