What happens if someone's kidneys give up or might be about to?
> a reduced amount of urine > swelling of your legs, ankles, and feet from retention of fluids caused by the failure of the kidneys to eliminate water waste >unexplained shortness of breath >excessive drowsiness or fatigue >persistent nausea >confusion >pain or pressure in your chest >seizures >coma Source: https://www.healthline.com/health/kidney-failure#symptoms
Thanks Grey. But can it kill them?
Yes, kidney failure is life-threatening if left untreated. If you are required to get a kidney removed due to the circumstances, you are able to live with one kidney. However this is in extremely rare circumstances and does not normally lead to death. It's a loaded question, it can be yes or no depending on how bad the kidney failure is and whether or not it is being treated.
Thanks, I think my dad will be okay then, we might be taking him to the doctor's today to check.
Good luck then
