One tip i'd give off is to be acquainted with how food tastes, training your palate to new flavors and expectations. Maybe visit different restaurants or food joints around your area and beyond to be able to do so. See what intrigues you. And then formulate thoughts in your head that will run right off your tongue whenever you have to critique a dish in the future, professionally.
