precalc

darkknight:

the rad/sec part

darkknight:

and I got about 75.864 RPM, can someone check that?

Parth:

1 radian corresponds to the length of the radius, so it's just dividing 65mph by 12inches right?

Parth:

And then converting that to /sec instead of /hour

Parth:

Oh do you want me to check your answer

Parth:

65 miles/hour divided by 12 inches is 343200 radians/hour

Parth:

which is 343200 radians/3600 seconds so do the math

Parth:

basically the length of the circumference equal to the radius of a circle corresponds to an angle of 1 radian, that's how it's defined

Parth:

np, that was a good question

darkknight:

so i got 286/3 rad/sec

darkknight:

what about Rounds per minute?

darkknight:

this is what I did: 65mph = 5720 in/min 5270in/min)/(24pi in/rev) = about 75.864 RPM
