useful, but the good stuff is 12 bucks every month... so its debatable

I'd say it depends on how you use it. It's handy for simple spelling mistakes but it can also be kinda tricky to navigate at times if you don't know what you're doing.

because it doesn't work half of the time and you should have to make an account

I agree, but one thing I love about it is if and when you open and write something in the app it is helpful cause it tells you to set goals and it scores your writing and tells you how you could make it better, but out of the app you can double-tap a word and it gives you synonyms to use a bigger word or just a better one, but that does not work in the app so...

it is an iffy subject, I have it but I won't be caught dead spending that much to write well ... and i got my first medal on this !! . I started yesterday btw

Grammarly is easy to use and is probably the most powerful online grammar checker available. So I'd say yes it is useful.
