When Point E (-7, 2) is rotated 90º counterclockwise about the origin, it becomes Point E’ (-2, -7). True False

Nicole:

@Hero @SmokeyBrown

TheSmartOne:

When you rotate a point 90 degrees counterclockwise about the origin, you go from (x,y) to (-y,x). So is it true or false?

Nicole:

False

TheSmartOne:

And why do you think that is?

Nicole:

because the 2 was supposed to be positive and not negative

TheSmartOne:

mhmm but we're going from (x, y) ----> (-y, x)

TheSmartOne:

You have to switch the sign on y and then flip the x and the y

Nicole:

Oh wait so its true my bad got confused

TheSmartOne:

Yeee
