For this project, you will design and create two time lines that illustrate the historical ups and downs of the first half of the twentieth century. As you know, time lines are an important social studies resource. Historians use time lines to organize social studies information. A good time line provides a visual depiction of chronology. It shows clearly the order in which events occurred. It allows us to see the connections between significant events. Your two time lines will also illustrate chronology and show the connections between events. But you will add an extra level. Your time lines will include an evaluation of the social studies information that you illustrate. How will you add this layer of evaluation? Call it the “roller coaster effect.” You will evaluate the events you include in each time line by giving it peaks and valleys. Good times should correspond to the tops of the peaks. Bad times belong in the valleys. This is a two-day project. On day one, you will create a time line that shows the peaks and valleys that occurred between 1914 and 1945 for the United States. In the next lesson, you will build a time line that charts the good times and bad times that occurred here in South Carolina over the same time span. Refer to the time line that runs across the bottom of pages 250 and 251 in The South Carolina Journey textbook. Remember, your time line should go up and down like a roller coaster to illustrate good times and bad times. For each peak, include one or two sentences that explain what made that period a good one. For each valley, include one or two sentences that explain why that time represents a low. Be sure that your time line illustrates • Events that led to the involvement of the United States in World War I. • Effects of World War I on the United States, including at least one of these: the building of new military bases and the economic effects of emigration to industrial jobs in the North. • Events that affected the nation in the 1920s, including at least one of these: Prohibition, the rise of mass media, improvements in daily life, the revival of the Ku Klux Klan, and the Harlem Renaissance. • The effects of the Great Depression and the lasting effects of the New Deal on the United States. • The effects of World War II on the United States, including at least one of these: the building of additional military bases, rationing, and bond drives, and the return of economic prosperity. plz help me make the timeline
The first timeline should be filled with good and bad major events that occurred between 1914 and 1950. It's up to you what events you want to include. We'll start at one step at a time. Since I don't have access to the pages for your book. You'll do most of the research since it's also against the rules for us to do your essays. We can help you tho
I just need confirmation that you're here
yep im here
Alright well, what do you know about 1914 - 1950?
not much except that japan bombed us during wwi and that we joined the war after that
That was around 1945. That's a bad thing that happened later. You can leave that as the 2nd piece. Anything good?
thats all i remember from class
I'll help you out, gimmie a sec?
