last one !! yayyyy! im including both last questions because they are similar. If each resistor in the circuit shown is 5.0 Ω, and the battery is 12.0 V, what does the second ammeter (A2) read? 0.24 A 0.96 A 0.12 A 0.48 A first image is for this question

jennylove:

heres the second question , i believe there somewhat similar ?

jennylove:

i think the first 1 is 4.8 and second is 0.48 ?

TheSmartOne:

Doing the first one and it looks familiar and that's correct

jennylove:

awesome!

TheSmartOne:

Second one also looks familiar but you didn't quite get it

jennylove:

oh no! let me relook at it

TheSmartOne:

What would the total resistance be? And then plug that into V=IR And solve for current

jennylove:

R2 and R3 are in parallel, so resistance is (r2 * r3)/ (r2+r3) = 25/10 = 2.5 ohms the resistance of the entire circuit is R4 + 2.5 ohms + R1 = 12.5 ohms The current in the circuit V/R = I 12 v/ 12.5 ohms = 960 mA R2 and R3 split this current 960/2 = 480 mA (or .48 A )

jennylove:

this is what i did

TheSmartOne:

Oh you're right!! I was still looking at the first image and was like 0.48 isn't an answer and you choice 4.8 hahaa

TheSmartOne:

Sorry about that!

TheSmartOne:

But wonderful job!!! You were excellent and hopefully you learned the difference between parallel and series!

jennylove:

oh no i put the question in wrong im sorry! hold on im a bit confused now

jennylove:

let me edit them real quick

heres the 2 different questions, the options are different! i accidentally pasted the same answers

jennylove:

everything looks good in those 2 pics ?(:

jennylove:

i think i wanna do more practice on my own but for the most part i got a way way way better grasp on it! and its you to thank , thank you so much for your help!

TheSmartOne:

They're the same, you got it right!!

TheSmartOne:

Don't mention it, it was an absolute pleasure helping you! And if by any unfortunate chance we accidentally got one wrong, do let me know! No one's perfect and we can always learn from our mistakes:)

jennylove:

you would'nt believe it ! all of them were correct ! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! thank you thank you!

TheSmartOne:

YAYAYY !! it was an absolute pleasure 😊
