\({\bf{Courir:}}\) (to run) je cours tu cours il/elle/on court nous courons vous courez ils/elles courent Verbs similar to courir are conjugated similarly: - concourir (to complete) - parcourir (to go, travel through - secourir (to rescue) examples: Je cours tous les matins. (I run every morning) Il parcourt la ville. (He travels through the city.) Les pompiers secourent des chats dans les arbres. (The firefighers rescue cats from trees.)

\({\bf{Rire:}}\) (to laugh) je ris tu ris il/elle/on rit nous rions vous riez ils/elles rient Related: sourire (to smile) is conjugated the same way. Si les gens ne rient pas de vos blagues, obtenez de meilleures blagues. (If people don't laugh at your jokes, get better jokes.) Je souris quand des gens odieux sont interdits. (I smile when obnoxious people are banned.)

(They offer us food in exchange for money.) - Les explorateurs découvrent fréquemment de nouveaux trésors. (The explorers often discover new treasures.) - Quand les gens me spamment, je souffre. (When people spam me, I suffer.)

(They (fem.) drive us around town sometimes.) - Il existe deux types d'utilisateurs QC: ceux qui construisent et ceux qui détruisent. (There are two types of QC users: those who create and those who destroy.) - Je traduis l'anglais en mandarin pour ma maman. (I translate English to Mandarin for my mom.)

\({\bf{Suivre:}}\) (to follow or to take a class) je suis tu suis il/elle/on suit nous suivons vous suivez ils/elles suivent note: Je suis is equivalent for the verb être, so be sure to pay attention to context when you see it. Poursuivre (to pursue) is conjugated in the same way. Examples: - Je suis le guide à travers le musée. (I follow the tour guide through the museum.) - Il suit un cours d'histoire. (He is taking a history class.) - Le chien poursuit le criminel. (The dog pursues the criminal.)

(My family lives in Paris.) - Vous ne pouvez pas revivre votre jeunesse. (You cannot relive your youth.) - Je survis sans attention constante. (I survive without constant attention.) Incidentally I just want to share one of my favorite French quotes since it uses the verb vivre. Le vent se lève!... il faut tenter de vivre!

(She is afraid of spiders.) - Certaines personnes jeûnent pour atteindre l'illumination. (Some people fast to attain enlightenment.) - La petite fille feint d'être une princesse. (The little girl pretends to be a princess.) - Je plains les gens qui se donnent des médailles. (I pity people who give themselves medals.)
