"probability that erin will not have a heart attack, and the test predicts she will (have a heart attack" to find this out, we would multiply (probability of *not* having a heart attack) * (the test gives a false positive) step 1) probability of not having a heart attack = 1 - (probability of having a heart attack) step 2) probability of a false positive = 1 - success rate of the test multiply the above two probabilities together
