An icicle is in the shape of an inverted cone with a diameter of 9 mm and a height of 120 mm. The icicle drips at a rate of 75 millimeters cubed per minute. How long will it take the icicle to completely melt? Use 3.14 for Pi. Round the answer to the nearest tenth. 5.1 minutes 7.5 minutes 15.1 minutes 33.9 minutes

Mercury:

volume of cone: (1/3) * pi * r^2 * h calculate the volume of the cone by plugging in pi, r (the radius) and h (the height) into the equation. note that you are given the diameter so you must divide diameter/2 to get the radius. now, once you have the volume, you can divide by 75 mm^3 per minute to get the units in minutes.
