Dramatic irony means that the audience (or reader) watching a play, movie, etc knows what is going on before the characters do

So like if you were watching a fighting movie and two different people were fighting but they didnt know that their leaders made a truce, the that would be dramatic irony. I dont feel that is the strongest example but let me know if that helps you figure out what your answer is @payton
