A point T on a segment with endpoints D(1, 4) and F(7, 1) partitions the segment in a 2:1 ratio. Find T. You must show all work to receive credit. (10 points)
What do you think it is?
not a clue ik one perrson knows they offline rn tho
i was really good at geometry but then i broke my hang in football so i couldnt do any of the work myself so i fell farrrrr behind
hand
Okay, so lets make that 3 people. So lets draw this|dw:1590121418857:dw| So look, the differences in x values is 6, the differences in y-values is 3. So we can set up a ratio.
If the distance between them is 6 for the x-coor. We can break that up into 3 pieces. 2 units in each piece. Since the ratio is 2x:x, It will be 4 right from point D, and 2 more right from there to get to point F
|dw:1590121625453:dw|
So the x-coordinate of point t will be 4 to the right of point D
Now break up the problem for the y-coordinate similar to what I did for the x-coor and tell me what you get.
hmmm i am confused i mean can u just type me out a step by step written out paragraph answer or how ever long it has to be so i can just send it to my teacher so i can get it submitted and over with and then we will go over it together so i can really understand it
What have I been doing?
exactly that
That is step -by-step, I don't know another way to explain it. I told you how to calculate the value of T (the x, you find the y using what I said).
noo can u send me a paragraph step by step answer all together so i can just send it to her real quick
i just wanna get this done i greatly appreciate u rn thanks sm
Thats cheating.
NP, but that would be plagarizing, use what I said and make your response a paragraph long. If you don't take time to understand it, then there is no point in submitting it.
i said after u send me the paragraph i will really understand it
im tired its 12: 37 am where i live rn
listen kid. If you understand it, no problem. If you don't, learn it first

No plagarizing.
alright lets do it step by step
Tell us rn what darkknight taught you if you really understand it.
What have I been doing?
well i mean continue
ok
No I'm done. You solve for y and tell me what you get
okay give me a min
I think @darkknight already said it nice and clear but u have your own understanding
GIve him some time
can we redo this i really cant understand your drawings
im real confused
I thought you understood?
you clearly don't understand. You wanted to plagiarize and but yet you still don't understand what we are teaching you.
But hopefully you get it sooner or later
i said ill learn your not teaching either darkknight is
FIne. No drawings. So you have 1,4 and 7,1 The difference in x is 7-1 = 6. The difference in y is 4-1= 3. So remember the 2x:x ratio? So the x coor will be 6(2/3) to the right of the first one and y will be 3(2/3) below the first one
shimask. please avoid comments like those
i understand more but what is the 2x:x ratio
Okay so do you see in the problem where it says 2:1 ratio?
yes
That means that If you have a segment from D to f, then If there is a point T in the middle. Ex: |dw:1590122977614:dw|
ahh okay
Now, that applies for X and Y. also stop fighting lads
So the x coor ratio and y coor ratio differences also follow 2:1
the real question is what is the point coordinate between 2x and x
Okay go offline, see you tomorrow
cya tommorow
hopefully you figure it out....
good luck
hey yall i submitted it after yall helped me i watched a vid to make sure i was doin it right and i am pretty surre i was correct
thanks darkknight
np, I acknowledge that you were tired yesterday, but do not ask to plagarize answers. That offends the person helping you. But great job! Keep Glowing.
