Tutorial: bbcode in chat (Bold, font, color, etc.) Have you ever seen someone in chat make their text bold, italicized, bigger, or in a different font? Maybe you're asking how you can do that too, as many have in the past. Well, this tutorial will teach you what you need to input in the chat in order to take effect. With this knowledge you'll be able to bold, underline, quote, and even change the size of what you're writing. Just remember NOT to be annoying with it. And if anyone asks about the topic in the future, feel free to redirect them here! And remember, the best place to test all these codes is in the chats. :) Without further ado, here we go!

Eiwoh2:

How to Bold, Italicize, Underline, and Strikethrough your text This one is the simplest, in my opinion. It's something almost everyone knows how to do on Word Documents while writing some kind of essay, or creating an outline. How to do it here using bbcode? Bold

Code:
[b] *text* [/b]
Italics
Code:
[i] *text* [/i]
Underline
Code:
[u] *text* [/u]
Strikethrough
Code:
[s] *text* [/s]

Eiwoh2:

How to colorize your text Want to specify a color in your text? A neat way to do it is this!

Code:
[color=red] *text* [/color=red]
Of course, red can be replaced with almost any other color or hex code. Try some out! You can also make a rainbow with your words if you're patient enough to type a whole lot of bbcode. Colors!!
Code:
[color=red]C[color=orange]o[color=yellow]l[color=blue]o[color=purple]r[color=cyan]s[color=green]!!
^ There's the code for that!

Eiwoh2:

How to use fonts This one is a bit more tricky, but if you know fonts, that's excellent. This site uses the web safe fonts. Here's how to use them.

Code:
[font=bf] *text* [/font=bf]
Like this. And there are several others you can replace "bf" with, of course. Use them when you feel like being creative with a sentence! But as I mentioned in the intro, don't be annoying with it.

Eiwoh2:

How to size up your text This one is also handy for emphasizing. Here's how you do it.

Code:
[size=1] *text*
Above is the smallest size available. And below is the biggest.
Code:
[size=7] *text*
Small Large

Eiwoh2:

How to use the quote box The quote box is simple to learn, professional to use. It can do things like this:

Ultrilliam wrote:
I am The Creator of QuestionCove
How to do it?
Code:
[quote=Ultrilliam] *text* [/quote=Ultrilliam]
Of course, Ultrilliam can be replaced with any other name.

Eiwoh2:

How to do the code box that i'm using to show you the codes Lastly for now is the code box, handy for inputting codes to teach someone how to use one. It's what I normally use while teaching someone how to use bbcode. But at least now this post exists to redirect those who don't know. Here's how to use the code box:

Code:
[code] *code* [/ code]
That's a lot of "code" i just typed there.

Eiwoh2:

That's all for now! You can go ahead and try them out in the chat. It's also compatible with the question threads, so feel free to use it to your advantage. I hope this tutorial helps anyone who wishes to learn this information in the future. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Preferably in pm so the thread won't get crowded too much. :)

ramen:

thanks for the information. theres also a bbcode site that you could use to rainbow text

jc17:

Can you do multiple codes at the same time?

Eiwoh2:

Eiwoh2 wrote:
Yes, indeed!

jc17:

How?

Eiwoh2:

Well, take any of the two codes you've learned here For example Quote and Bold

Code:
[quote=jc17] [b] text [/b] [/quote]

Eiwoh2:

Try it out!

Ariahhebrank:

Eiwoh2:

This is a tutorial on how to use bbcode (bold, italics, underline, etc.) in the chat. You don't need to do anything but learn, if you want to. :)

Ariahhebrank:

\[this ??\]

Ariahhebrank:

ok thanks

Eiwoh2:

Ah, look at you! Good LaTeX! Though the ones on this post can mainly be used in the chats. :)

Ariahhebrank:

Eiwoh2:

All Subjects, Miscellaneous, etc. The public chats on the bottom right of your screen. ^^

Ariahhebrank:

o ok thx

Eiwoh2:

No problem!

MrMudd183:

are the fonts from the Microsoft Word software?

Isry:

Howie what have you done?

Eiwoh2:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Isry Howie what have you done? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Provided a tutorial for users to express themselves when needed using these codes, why?

Eiwoh2:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @MrMudd183 are the fonts from the Microsoft Word software? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) All i'm informed of is the possible web safe fonts, as they can be used. Fonts like bf, papyrus, sans, verdana. But overall the answer to your question should be yes. You can test them out to see using the code provided!

rainbow magic time

theycallmelesbian:

how do you do different colors at one time?

Eiwoh2:

You just perform [ color=red ] (no spaces) various times, with different colors each time and text between them. Example:

Eiwoh2:

Code:
[color=red]H[color=blue]I
HI

jordangantt12:

If you want to use the quote box where do you put it?

Eiwoh2:

All you've gotta do is input the code, the same as the bold, italics, etc.

Code:
[quote= Jordan] text
Try that. :)

jordangantt12:

On the profile or in the text box?

Eiwoh2:

These codes can be inputted in the public chats and on question threads. :)

Eiwoh2:

They don't work on the profiles descriptions or on testimonials, no.

jordangantt12:

otay thank you

TWALKER16:

can you show me how to bbcode color rainbow text

Eiwoh2:

If you want to keep experimenting, the All Subjects or Miscellaneous chat is always open for you to try these out in. :)

Eiwoh2:

Try “font” instead of text or cursive. :)

Eiwoh2:

And make sure to not crowd the thread too much with experiments. Try doing these in the All Subjects or Miscellaneous chat. :)

Eiwoh2:

Update on the Size code: The new limit is 5 rather than 7 Now, you would do size from

Code:
[size=1] text
to
Code:
[size=5] text
Thanks, and I hope everyone is having fun with these codes. Make sure to try them out in the chat, and not here!
