How should the table be changed to correctly distinguish between mechanical and electromagnetic waves?
Do you know what electromagnetic waves and magnetic waves are?
Yes

Electromagnetic waves
Earthquake waves
thank you
leila... tell us your answer again.
How should the table be changed to correctly distinguish between mechanical and electromagnetic waves?
sorry but I have to step in and clarify on what the definitions of electromagnetic and mechanical waves actually are. it has nothing to do with what is "earth-related" or "machine-related" mechanical waves transfer energy through the oscillation of matter electromagnetic waves transfer energy caused by the propagation of an electric and magnetic field. unlike mechanical waves, electromagnetic waves can travel through a medium.
Thanks for the clarification
why did u delete everything qc bot
Because they were wrong.
from your table, you have three examples of electromagnetic waves and three types of mechanical waves. as a major hint there is one entry in the left column that needs to be swapped with an item from the right column. to figure this out, you need to know how each of these waves is classified. for example, ocean waves *does* belong in the mechanical wave column because an ocean wave transfers energy through the movement of matter (water.) likewise, x-rays are a type of electromagnetic wave because they can propogate energy w/o a medium. go through the other choices and classify them according to whether they are a mechanical or electromagnetic wave.
Ok
