Which of the following BEST summarizes how to solve for the variable x in the equation below, and which rule was used to do so? 2003-03-01-00-00_files/i0260000.jpg A. multiply by 2003-03-01-00-00_files/i0260001.jpg on both sides of the equation by the addition property of equality B. multiply by 2003-03-01-00-00_files/i0260002.jpg on both sides of the equation by the multiplication property of equality C. add –2 to both sides of the equation by the addition property of equality D. add –2 to both sides of the equation by the multiplication property of equality
the equation is (2/3) * x = -2 as a reminder, we want to get x by itself. since x is currently being multiplied by (2/3), what can we do to "undo" this? what operation out of the 4 choices would "undo" the 2/3 so we get x by itself?
So what's the opposite of multiplying... Do that to get x by itself. If you want/ need more help just ask! :)
