zcurry1313:

Two competing gyms each offer childcare while parents work out. Gym A charges $9.00 per hour of childcare. Gym B charges $0.75 per 5 minutes of childcare. Which comparison of the childcare costs is accurate? Gym B charges $1.05 less per hour than Gym A. Gym B charges $1.50 less per hour than Gym A. Gym B charges $5.25 less per hour than Gym A. Gym B and Gym A charge the same hourly rate for childcare.

Tyrion:

They charge the same because 5x12=60 and 0.75x60=9 so the answer is they charge the same.............and if your wondering how i got 60 its because an hour is 60 minutes and gym B charges by 5 minutes at a time hope i helped

TheSmartOne:

Eh, you reached the right answer but have a mistake in your work 0.75 * 12 = 9 So you're charged 0.75 for every five minutes. An hour has 60 minutes, which can be broken down into 12 5-minute segments (12*5=60) So $0.75 for every 5 mins is equal to $9 for an hour Hopefully that clarifies any confusion
