why is it useful for historians to craft historical narratives
Past events could be better understood.
It also allows historians to ignore useless or inconvenient evidence.
next time please post the answer choices A. Narratives make historical information more engaging. O B. Narratives cannot be changed by other historians later. O C. Narratives draw on ancient historical traditions rather than modern ones. O D. Narratives allow historians to ignore inconvenient evidence. I will politely disagree with the previous answer. A historian **cannot** just ignore evidence that isn't convenient for him. To be academically honest, a historian should evaluate **all** evidence fairly, and determine which sources are credible and relevant to the narrative. If a reputable, strong piece of evidence contradicts something they've already established, then the historian should revise the narrative accordingly. with that said, consider what a narrative is: a story. why would a historian create a story, instead of just listing out facts/dates, etc? go through the other answer choices and think about which one makes the most sense.
