tiinaye1:

In 2010, the world's largest pumpkin weighed 1,810 kilograms. An average-sized pumpkin weighs 5,000 grams. The 2010 world-record pumpkin weighs blank kilograms more than an average-sized pumpkin. (Write your answer as a numeral.)

Mercury:

we want to know how much heavier the world's largest pumpkin is, compared to an average-sized pumpkin it wants the difference in kg. the world's largest pumpkin weight is already given in kg, but since the average weight is given in grams, we must convert 5,000g to kilograms first. since 1 kg = 1,000g, we can divide by 1000 to go from grams to kgs. once you have both weights in kg, you can simply subtract (world's largest pumpkin weight) - (average pumpkin weight)
