Both terms refer to how an organism gets its energy. ( aka how it gets its food) Basically, the main distinguishing factor between autotrophs and heterotroph is that autotrophs are capable of making their own food. Heterotrophs need to absorb/eat another organism A classic plant would be an example of an autotroph. (It makes its own food from the sun) A person/animal is an example of a heterotroph because it needs to eat something in order to get energy to live. I am not sure what level of detail you need to include for this piece but this is a general idea of what it is
