Politely disagree with the previous response. In chemistry, the reactants are the chemicals that go *into* the equation, *not* what is produced from the reaction. in a chemical equation, reactants are on the left side of the arrow. here's the equation for photosynthesis: 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light --> C6H12O6 + 6 O2 notice what's on the left side of the reaction arrow.
