From the perspective of a Georgia Loyalist, explain the reasons that you think opposing Great Britain during the American Revolution might "bring ruin" on Georgia. Be sure to include political and economic reasons. Include at least 1 paragraph, 8-10 sentences.

Eiwoh2:

Well, it seems this is something you would study for, as it's asking for your own opinion in a paragraph. We aren't able to write a paragraph for you, however we can lead you to one. Now, what do you know about the Loyalists? And the American Revolution?

Dcharger:

This is optional

Dcharger:

Im practicing for tests next week

Eiwoh2:

That's nice. Well, i'd suggest examining the important information that's provided on the tests before you take it. It'll get you through some tough times during the tests. Now, i'll drop some helpful information about this time era that will help guide you to this paragraph. Loyalists were American colonists who stayed loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolutionary War. They were opposed by the Patriots, who supported the revolution, and called them "persons inimical to the liberties of America". In other words, they were in favor of the British. This question asks why opposing them would be ruined. Can you give me any thoughts as to why?

Dcharger:

hey were opposed by the Patriots, who supported the revolution, and called them "persons inimical to the liberties of America".

Dcharger:

they*

Eiwoh2:

Right, the Patriots fought for the opposite of what the loyalists fought for. They were staying loyal to Britain instead of fighting for independence. Why's that? Perhaps they thought that they had everything they needed in Britain? Or they were just too lazy for independence? Which one would you say out of those two possibilities?

Dcharger:

They were staying loyal to Britain instead of fighting for independence.

Eiwoh2:

How come? I listed two possibilities. Which do you think is more likely?

Dcharger:

what are the 2?

Eiwoh2:

Dcharger:

they thought that they had everything they needed in Britain?

Eiwoh2:

Correct. Some Loyalists didn't fight because they were not dissatisfied. They may have been wealthy or simply believed that Great Britain was justified in its actions. So they didn't fight for the independence the Patriots fought for.

Eiwoh2:

Now, back to the question. Why did the loyalists think that opposing Britain during the Revolution might bring ruin? In this case, it speaks about the Georgia loyalists.

Dcharger:

They would lose their wealth

Eiwoh2:

Exactly correct. The rich, at least, since their source of income was from Britain, would lose what they gained.

Dcharger:

I wrote this

Dcharger:

From the perspective of a Georgia Loyalist, explain the reasons that you think opposing Great Britain during the American Revolution might "bring ruin" on Georgia. is because the economics would lose money, The King from Great Britain would be angry and might imprison or execute me.

Eiwoh2:

Another reason would be that there was no political structure to help States transition from England towards independence. So a sticky situation like that could turn out pretty bad for them, meaning they were basically afraid of the change independence might bring.

Dcharger:

True

Eiwoh2:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Dcharger From the perspective of a Georgia Loyalist, explain the reasons that you think opposing Great Britain during the American Revolution might "bring ruin" on Georgia. is because the economics would lose money, The King from Great Britain would be angry and might imprison or execute me. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Instead of "the economics" , I would say "the wealthy loyalists" would lose their money. "The King from Great Britain would be angry" isn't a very good statement to go with, as the King had other pressing matters to deal with at the time. I would replace that sentence using the information I just gave you over the loyalists fearing the worst of the American Revolution change to independence.

Eiwoh2:

Doing that, you should be good to go for a paragraph about how a Georgia Loyalist would think opposing Great Britain would bring the place to ruin.

Dcharger:

I appreciate your help

Dcharger:

but does this sentence make sense

Dcharger:

As the King had other pressing matters to deal with at the time and might imprison or execute me.

Dcharger:

which sentence would u replace

Eiwoh2:

I would leave that part out. The King doesn't have anything to do with what the question is currently asking.

Dcharger:

As the King had other pressing matters to deal with at the time and, might imprison or execute me. Also, there was no political structure to help States transition from England towards independence. i wrote this is it good?

Eiwoh2:

Besides the King part, that looks pretty good.

Dcharger:

yeah

Dcharger:

so it it good to submit?

Dcharger:

you said the King doesn't have anything to do with what the question is currently asking.

Dcharger:

wdym

Eiwoh2:

The question is asking the point of view of the Georgia Loyalists. They had reasons to stay loyal to the British, and you covered the basics. The wealthy would lose money, and the people perhaps feared what ruin independence might bring. The King dosen't necessarily need to be included here. However, if you feel like it, you can go ahead and submit it as is.

Dcharger:

okay ty

Eiwoh2:

Not a problem. Good luck on your tests! If you've been helped with the question, you can head to the top of this thread and "Close" the question. :)

Dcharger:

Yes sir i appreciate your help

Eiwoh2:

Not a problem. 👍
