Please do not copy-paste my answer. I’ll try to speak from my personal experience as an Asian-American. I don’t know the statistics off the top of my head, but if it really is true that Asian-Americans are underrepresented in creative programs, I have two ideas as to why: - Culture: In general, Asian parents tend to place more focus on academics rather than creative extracurriculars (it’s common for Asian parents to sign their kids up for music, art, dance, etc. as children but grades come first, plus it’s looked down upon to pursue a career in the creative arts) - Prejudice: There’s a stereotype that Asians are less creative (i.e. more suited towards mathematical/analytical work), so they’re less encouraged to apply for/be accepted into creative programs. I’m not sure if that’s the kind of answer you were looking for. If you want more research-based evidence, you could look up articles about the bamboo ceiling, creativity in Asian-Americans vs. other ethnicities, Asian-Americans in academics culture, etc.

Asian american, and the high educational standards and stereotypes, many Asian family's focus more on the factual subjects such as math and science, and go to careers that have grounded futures such as doctors.
