mysterygirl:

what does the suffix phobia mean?

Eiwoh2:

Well, have you ever heard of the terms arachnophobia or claustrophobia somewhere? Those two words are common phrases that share the “phobia” suffix. Could you give me any guess of what ya think it could mean if you’ve heard of these words?

mysterygirl:

ummm not sure :( lol

Eiwoh2:

Basically, arachnophobia is an intense fear of spiders. And claustrophobia is an intense fear for confined or tight spaces. It seems there’s something in common with these two definitions.. 👀 What does that tell you about the “phobia” suffix?

mysterygirl:

ohhh okay, i guess i wasnt really paying attention to the words lol but i do know what they mean and thank you

Eiwoh2:

Yep! Once ya get an idea on what certain words mean, it’s easier to connect the dots on some questions! Hope this helped! If you please, close the question if you found your answer. . :)

mysterygirl:

is fear correct?

Eiwoh2:

Correct! Phobia is always related to fear.

or go ask google

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @BhaddieAlexus or go ask google \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Sometimes people want a simpler explanation given by another peer rather than to ask Google. There's no problem with that. :)
