Use the graph representing bacteria decay to estimate the domain of the function and solve for the average rate of change across the domain.

Mercury:

We'd need the graph to really be able to solve this, but as for domain, it should be the x values (they might use t) across which the bacteria is still decaying as for average rate of change across the domain (final bacteria amount) - (initial bacteria amount) then divide by the (final domain value - initial domain value)
