randsbo1:

Convert 3,200,000 to scientific notation. a 3.2 ⋅ 106 b 3.2 ⋅ 105 c 3.2 ⋅ 10−6 d 3.2 ⋅ 10−5

MrMudd183:

for scientific notation, you move the decimal over to the left or right depending on where it's located. in 3,200,000 the decimal is after the final zero, and there are 6 places from the decimal the the first number. you want to have one number before the decimal in scientific notation. so the final product of this one would be 3.2 * 10^-6. if you're moving the decimal to the left, the exponent on the 10 will be negative. but if you're moving the decimal to the right, the exponent on the 10 will be positive

randsbo1:

thankyou

MrMudd183:

you're welcome :)
