Which option is a characteristic of an unreliable narrator? intends to deceive others does not intend to deceive others deceives others, whether intentionally or unintentionally recounts events in a distant narrative style
does any one know this one???
old question, answering so this can be closed unreliable narrator definition: "A narrator that is not trustworthy, whose rendition of events must be taken with a grain of salt." reference: https://cla.purdue.edu/academic/english/theory/narratology/terms/unreliable.html so it's somebody who is not giving an accurate account of what happened. it could be that they are deliberately trying to hide/embellish the truth (example: Life of Pi, in which the narrator knows what really happened at sea and created two versions of the story). however, it could also be that the narrator genuinely doesn't know the truth (ex: Memento, in which the main character has anterrograde amnesia and thus can't remember things from the immediate past). therefore, the best choice is "deceives others, whether intentionally or unintentionally"
