DCrandall13:

Why was Virginia more likely to trade with Massachusetts than Georgia? Virginia and Georgia produced similar crops. Virginia was closer to Massachusetts than to Georgia. Virginia and Georgia often fought over land and water rights. Massachusetts was larger than Georgia and could provide more raw materials.

Isry:

The answer has to do with supply and demand. Basically Georgia already had the crops that Virginia was trading so they were not going to get a good price from Georgia. Instead, they would trade with Massachusetts who didn’t have the same crops Virginia had. This would make them much more likely to pay more for the crops.
