part A) apply the above logic to create an equation for the amount E, working (x) hours at the regular wage of $18

part B) first, calculate 35 hours of regular pay using the equation from part A)
then, create another equation for the overtime hours ($25 wage, for y hours = ?)
then add both quantities together

part C) take the equation from part B and set it equal to $730, and solve for the overtime hours y. as long as you get a positive y-value, that means he worked overtime. that automatically means x = 35 hours, since he needs to work 35 regular hours to quality for overtime.
