Politely disagree with the previous response. If two equations form a consistent + dependent system, then both equations are mathematically equal (a.k.a y = x, and 2y = 2x, as these both represent the same line) apply this logic to your problem to see which answer choice is equivalent to x – y = –2 (you may need to play around with adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing the equation by constants)
