What is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y = x + 4 and passes through the point (6, 5)? y = x + 3 y = x + 7 y = 3x – 13 y = 3x + 5

Mercury:

if two lines are parallel, then they have the same slope since y = x + 4 has slope 1, (y = 1x + 4) that narrows us down to choices A+B which also have slope 1. now, plug in x = 6 and y = 5 into each equation to find out which equation is true for the point (6,5)
