MrBacon:

I've got a few questions about the Byzantine Era How did Justinian's actions contribute to the fall of the Byzantine empire? How did invading forces contribute to the fall of the Byzantine empire? What impact did the Macedonian Empire have on the Byzantine empire? How did the Crusades contribute to the fall of the Byzantine empire? How did trade with the Venetians contribute to the fall of the Byzantine empire?

MrBacon:

Please help i suck at history

EstherSmartie:

Okay

MrBacon:

thanks

EstherSmartie:

Alright so

EstherSmartie:

The answer to the first question is

EstherSmartie:

the rebuilding of constantinople

EstherSmartie:

The action of Justinian which contributed to the decline of the Byzantine empire is the rebuilding of constantinople. Justinian was the Byzantine emperor who ruled from 527 - 565, his principal goal was to restore the original Roman Empire

MrBacon:

thanks

EstherSmartie:

No problem

EstherSmartie:

Can I please have a medal, I'm getting the next question's answer right now.

EstherSmartie:

The answer to the second question is: Invading forces contribute to the fall of the Byzantine empire by weakening the empire. ... The Byzantines created another barbarian group, called the Avars, to stop the Slavs. As the two groups were at war with each other, they were physically weakening the empire's structure

EstherSmartie:

Answer to the third question:

EstherSmartie:

The Macedonian Empire existed and fell apart before the establishment of the Byzantine Empire, but that doesn't mean that these two empires don't have any connection, on the contrary, the Macedonian Empire actually contributed a lot to the development of the Byzantine Empire. As mentioned, the Macedonian Empire fell apart, or rather was conquered, but the Macedonian dynasties remained, and later their descendants. These Macedonians actually created a period known as the Macedonian Dynasty, which was a period in Byzantium when several Macedonian rulers were the emperors. These rulers of the Macedonian Dynasty were actually the ones that made Byzantium great and strong. They implemented lot of reforms, with the result being increase in the production of goods, stimulating greater demand, and encouraging trade, leading to economic boom. Also, the cities started to become larger, more beautiful, and better organized, while the population was also on the rise because of the improved living conditions. The education and knowledge were encouraged as well, so more and more of the population was becoming educated and had much better understanding of the world. This period is also referred to as the ''Macedonian Renaissance''.

EstherSmartie:

Answer to the next question: The Crusades drove the Seljuk Turks out of the area, but it also opened up Byzantium to Latin aggression. Also, the Fourth Crusade (made up of Latin Crusaders) sacked Byzantium and greatly reduced power in the empire.

EstherSmartie:

Last answer: Venetian trade dominated much of the Mediterranean. They had been given special trading rights within the empire as far back as Justinian in the fifth century. In return, Venice's powerful fleet protected Byzantine ships. The Byzantine Empire began to fall because of the Fourth Crusade sacking its capital.

EstherSmartie:

Those are all the answers! Hope they helped :)

EstherSmartie:

Oh and can I please have a medal XD

MrBacon:
