How do you define 'belief'?

I was a little confused, as I thought the word beliefs is a little heavy,, like if we say perception we all know it is something just in mind. but when we say 'belief' it kind of makes us to take the responsibility of what we are going to say.

yes. Think of it this way... You and your family believe in always being polite and kind to others so you will most likely act off of that belief... Like open doors for others or just do something polite to the people around you. Do you get what I'm getting at?
