Hello QuestionCove users!

Recently the moderation team has noticed an uptick in questions posted in both the Miscellaneous and Puzzles & Challenges section. Whilst we appreciate the engagement in the site, this large volume of questions can crowd out our academic questions. We want to ensure that those needing help in Mathematics, English, History, etc are receiving the prime viewing space atop All Subjects.

As such, going forward the moderation team will be strictly enforcing a no-spam rule in these sections. You may post one or two questions there to talk about a puzzle or thought problem with your friends, but too many questions will result in suspension. Take this notice as a warning.

Additionally, please make sure that you are posting questions in the proper sections. Repeatedly posting questions in the wrong section or trying to abuse the score mechanics will result in moderator action.

QuestionCove is first and foremost a place where you get can academic help. We will always have a space for you to hang out with your friends and have fun, but please keep in mind that some people are studying here too.

Your question is a bit unclear. If you mean you can help someone with a history question by sharing the appropriate history.com article with them, then yes. If you're just posting a website that says the answer is 152, then no.

If you mean cute websites that you think are interesting/fun, you can post them in Miscellaneous. But if you make five separate posts in the same day about it, that will result in moderator action.

The slightest things can hurt the site's rating, as Ultrilliam has already highlighted. What we strive to do most here is keep the main purpose: ask, answer, and help out with academic questions.
We just encourage you to read follow the rules, most of all. Sure, it may seem hard, but it really isn't. If you have trouble following them, then perhaps this isn't the place for you.
Though, in conclusion, all we want is a positive environment for our members. Thus why we can seem strict at times. We warn verbally, then move on to an official warn, remember.

Which means before you receive the official warn, someone has already told you what you've done wrong. My suggestion is take it as a learning experience, and grow with it. :)

In summary, we'd like to limit the "Ask a Question" section to academic questions.
We don't want the posts to be filled with mind challenges or riddles, we want the questions coming in from new users to be seen before these.
