Alaine has 1 gallon of paint. She is going to pour it into a paint tray that measures 10 inches wide, 12 inches long, and 5 cm deep. (1 gallon = 231 in3, 1 inch = 2.54 cm) Which of the following scenarios will happen? (2 points)

Mercury:

answer choices: (please post these next time) a. The paint will not fill the tray by 369 cm3. b. The paint will not fill the tray by 5.22 in3. c. The paint will fill the tray exactly. d. The paint will overfill the tray by 5.22 in3

Mercury:

this problem is a little tricky since we're dealing with multiple units the dimensions of the paint try are in inches *and* cm. since they give you 1 gallon = 231 in3, it makes sense to convert all the linear dimensions into inches first 5 cm deep ---> since 2.54 cm = 1 inch, we can divide 5cm/(2.54) to get to inches from there, calculate the volume of the tray (V = L*W*H) and compare this to 1 gallon (231 inch^3) to see which statement is true
