Allusion is when the author is trying to make you see something without directly saying it. Hamlet is dying from the poison and Horatio wants to drink the rest of the poison so that he may give up his life for Hamlet. This is a reference to the romans who gave up their life for their emperor, as he is willing to do the same for Hamlet
