Jupiter is largely composed of gases and isn't solid either. The definition of a planet isn't that it's solid, but how it behaves in space and the nature of its energy production.

@imbadatmath You see what I'm saying though. We're asking where if it's a planet right now or not, we look at what's happening right now, then make a determination. As of right now, our Sun isn't orbiting a star. So it's not a planet.
