Spelling/punctuation rules for dialogue:

- right before dialogue, open quotation marks
- first word inside the quotes is capitalized. Punctuate sentences as normal (capitalize the first word, use periods/question marks/exclamation marks as appropriate)
- after the last punctuation mark in the last sentence of dialogue, end quotation mark. if there's a dialogue tag after the last quotation mark, and a period at the last sentence, change to a comma. ex: ("I am happy," she said. NOT "I am happy." she said. However, "Are you happy?" he said. is acceptable, as this is a question mark not a period.
