Why did Suleiman believe that his empire's mosques would be pleasing to Muhammad? The mosques he built were dedicated to Mohammad. The mosques he built were larger and greater than any others. The mosques he built took the place of Catholic cathedrals. The mosques he built were expected to provide social services.
What do you know of Suleiman? I can tell you that some of the mosques he built took the place of cathedrals, however the cathedrals they took the place of weren't catholic they were actually Greek Orthodox. This is because they were in the former Byzantine empire. Suleiman was also a great architect and so he built many impressive buildings. Hope this helps.
I am late but I think The mosques he built were dedicated to Muhammad (I didn't do much research but I hope am right :))
