nlew5:

Nina can ride her bike 63,360 feet in 3,400 seconds, and Sophia can ride her bike 10 miles in 1 hour. What is Nina's rate in miles per hour if there are 5,280 feet in a mile

jhonyy9:

so for you get the correct answer you need convert the 63.360 feet in miles and the 3400 seconds in hours than you know the rule of 3 simple you can do it easy in this way 5280 ft are in 1 mile 63.360 ft mean x miles so cross multiplie and calcule the x value x = 63360 / 5280 = 12 miles and now you know that Nina can ride her bike 12 miles in 3400 sec. hope you know 3600 seconds mean 1 hour so to get the miles per hour you can use again the rule of 3 simple and write 12 miles in 3400 sec x miles in 3600 sec. so cross multiplie and calcule the x value x = 3600 *12 / 3400 = 36*12 /34 = 36*6/17 = 12,7 miles so Nina's rate in miles per hour is 12,7 miles/hour hope helped understandably easy
