You can definitely do both as the others said, and maybe since you'll have both literary and graphic muscles, you can be a versatile writer and collaborate with other writers. Gives you some nice versatility.

You're welcome, I also write myself, might end up exercising my graphical muscles at some point, we'll see. Not everyone has the gift so definitely use it if you have it  +  enjoy it. Then maybe I'll come to you for an illustration (:
