Semoi:

A company sells its printers to customers in order to make a profit of 25%. Calculate: (ii) the price the company paid for a printer which was sold to a customer for $2,500.

kayplayer:

The correct answer depends on the meaning of 25% profit. Does the company want to make a profit of 25% of SALES, or a MARKUP (over cost) of 25% ??? The markup method is equivalent to 20% profit of Sales. Under the normal Accounting Convention, you usually see profit/sales (revenue)
