Identify the detail sentence that best supports the following topic sentence. Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams. A. Once I studied for more than twelve hours for a tough math exam. B. Group projects can lead to trouble if the members can't agree who is to do what. C. Comparing class notes is one way for a group to ensure that they all understand the material. D. Some students perform better on exams than on term papers.

supie:

Ok so we have to find a sentence that best supports the argument that "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." So we're talking about `students` `studying in teams` `being better prepared`

supie:

For option A. A says once `i` meaning one person, >remember the sentence said `students`< option A suggests `one student ` that studied more than 12 hrs it doesn't say anything about better prepared or anything along that line its only one student so A really has nothing contributing to "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." Therefore, A has to be incorrect.

supie:

Option B, Option B says "Group projects can lead to trouble if the members can't agree who is to do what." < This suggest that `Group projects can lead to trouble`. And it has a reason which was because members aren't always going to agree with each other. Our other sentence we have suggest something positive about working in teams. `(Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams.)` It suggest that it makes them better prepared which is a good things. While option B suggest it can lead students to trouble and chaos. meaning that B isn't arguing the point of "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." it is on the whole opposite side. if that makes sense anyways it has nothing contributing to the sentence.

supie:

Afk for a little Anyways, option C "Comparing class notes is one way for a group to ensure that they all understand the material." this suggests that `comparing class notes` (which is working in teams) can make them `understand` the material. This can result in success. Because they are working in teams. So "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." Does "Comparing class notes is one way for a group to ensure that they all understand the material." have anything to do with "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." Does it support it?

supie:

Option D, Does "Some students perform better on exams than on term papers." and "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." Relate at all? that's basically what you have to think. does it support it? option d suggests that students preform better just like "Students who study in teams are better prepared for exams." talks about students preforming better but what is different about option d is that it doesn't talk about studying in teams it talks about term papers. so would this be correct or incorrect?

supie:

Keep in mind that it says "Identify the detail sentence that best supports the following topic sentence." `best supports`
